Our Beginning

The Heritage Chinese Language School was founded in 1978, yet Chinese language education was officially offered in the community since 1975 with the efforts of 6 parents, marking Saskatoon's inaugural Chinese language institution. Initially focusing solely on Mandarin, the school expanded its curriculum in 1990 to include Cantonese. Since its inception 45 years ago, our institution has remained committed to imparting Chinese language proficiency and promoting Chinese culture, free from the impact of religious and political influences. This guiding principle has been diligently upheld throughout our longstanding history.

Our Board of Directors

The board consists of members who are passionate about exposing the best of Chinese culture to our children. We are particularly looking for individuals with expertise in management, accounting, marketing, graphics and website designs, and IT to help with the operation of the school.
